The Cocktail Hour
It starts with a soft click as you open the top.....
A mirrored shelf glides forward. Winged doors extending out, the Deco motif catches your eye. Bottles reflecting the light. A quiet glow warms the glass and the grain. This isn’t just a drinks cabinet — it’s an invitation.
Originally made in 1960 by Beautility, the Washington has always had presence. Now reimagined in coal black and gold, with a hand-painted Deco design running across burr walnut veneer, it blends vintage elegance with a more modern edge. From the soft gleam of the satin chrome handles to the detail inside the doors, everything has been carefully considered.
The top section opens to reveal a mirrored bar with soft interior lighting — fully rewired and ready to go. There’s space for tall bottles and glassware, with a mirrored pull-out shelf for pouring drinks or just placing a glass. Below, three lined drawers are deep enough to hold wine bottles on their sides, and a lower cupboard with removable shelves offers flexible storage.
It’s a piece that naturally draws the eye, without shouting. Whether styled simply or dressed for an occasion, it brings a quiet sense of elegance to the room.
And when the time is right — a drink in hand, music low, lighting just so — it all comes together.

Commissioning a similar Beautility cabinet. This original Beautility Washington cabinet has now sold, but I can source a similar vintage Beautility drinks cabinet and create a bespoke version especially for you.
These cabinets are becoming increasingly difficult to source, and every vintage piece varies in its dimensions, configuration and wood grain.
Once a suitable cabinet has been found, we can work together on the colour, finish and decorative details to create a piece designed for your home.
The price shown is a commission guide price. Final pricing will depend on the cabinet sourced, its condition and the complexity of your chosen design.
