The Renata — Vintage Walnut Art Deco Cocktail Cabinet in Manor Green
A striking one-of-a-kind vintage cocktail cabinet, redesigned by Classic Lines Designs to celebrate its beautiful original walnut grain while giving the piece a sophisticated Art Deco character.
Renata — meaning “reborn” — felt like the perfect name for this piece. First transformed in my workshop in 2022, I chose to revisit her four years later as my own style had evolved. The result is a more refined interpretation of the original design, allowing the beautiful walnut grain to take centre stage while retaining the colour, geometry and touches of gold that have become signatures of Classic Lines Designs.
Finished in a deep Manor Green, the rich colour provides a dramatic contrast to the restored walnut veneer. The natural grain has been deliberately made the focal point of the design, with fine metallic gold geometric detailing following the symmetry and movement within the wood.
The upper cabinet features a bespoke Art Deco design across the walnut front, complemented by understated square metallic handles. Open the drop-down front to reveal a generous cocktail area with its original illuminated interior, decorative vintage mirrors and ample space for bottles, glassware and bar accessories. The mirrored lowered lid also provides a practical surface for preparing and serving drinks.
Below, a walnut-fronted drawer has been finished with a fine gold border and opens to reveal a green and gold geometric lining— a little hidden detail that continues the design inside the piece.
The lower cupboard provides additional storage for bottles, glassware or entertaining essentials, with a Manor Green interior and coordinating gold geometric lining to the back.
The beautifully figured walnut doors have been carefully restored and paired so their dramatic mirrored grain remains the star of the piece. Fine gold linework adds just enough Art Deco detail without overpowering the natural character of the wood.
As with all vintage furniture, this piece retains the character and history of its age. It has been carefully restored and refinished by hand, rather than made to look factory-new. Any minor age-related marks are part of its individual history and do not detract from its overall appearance or function.
